My 35th Birthday Nails!

Hey Everyone!
Happy Friday April 12th!

Today is my birthday and I wanted to show ya'll what I chose to wear today!
I didn't want to do like the typical cupcakes or balloons but wanted to go out comfort zone and do something I've been wanting to try.

I wanted to have some fun and try doing some non stamped flowers.
I used a striping brush for the branches and a dotting tool for the flowers.

I guess they are kind of cherry blossom inspired.

Julep Fast Dry Topcoat

 China Glaze Fairy Dust
Konad Special Stamping Polish Black
(Since I have not set up my nail room, I am working with all my Juleps and some others. I did not have a brown in my refined stash so I took the Konad black and added a little bit of nail thinner to get it watered down to paint with a stripper brush)

You can see in above how I put the Fairy Dust just on the branches and flowers to add just a bit of bling. I think something would be wrong with me if I did not use Fairy Dust on my birthday!
Just love that topcoat.

I even did the design on my non dominant hand!
Below is the comparison of the two hands:
 Left Hand
 Right Hand
Not to bad for painting with my non dominant hand. I realized I made the flowers slightly smaller. I guess I have a rougher application of a dotting tool with the dominant hand. lol

Julep Spring Mystery Box Color Block

Hey Guys,
It's Friday!

Today I have a design that uses three of the colors I got in my Julep Spring Mystery Box to create a sort of subtle, soft color block.

I just love the combo of the soft blue grey of Julianne with the soft pink of Grace.
I also alternated which color I put a coat of Camille to give a iridescent glitter pop to.

When I showed my Dad he said..."That has a 60's vibe." He's too cute. I love how he likes seeing what I'm painting and to even check out my polishes I get. Super supportive of my addiction!

I started off with a base of Kate because Grace was just too sheer.
Even with the base it took three coats to get it opaque.

Have a fantastic weekend!
Thank you all for stopping by and I will see you next time!

Julep Spring Mystery Box

Happy Wednesday Everyone.
I finally got my Julep Spring Mystery Box in the mail today.
Took two weeks to get to me but I did get some real beauties here and......no dupes!
It is always a gamble when getting a mystery box but luckily I got all new ones!

This box just oozes spring! I need this around me today
cause it is raining so bad here in southern Mississippi!
I love that they used a separate box with lid which I will totally reuse.

I got these descriptions from the Julep Site unless otherwise stated:

Camille is not listed on Julep site but is a limited edition opalescent glitter topcoat
Sarah “sheer pink coral with iridescent glitter.”
(This one is no longer on the Julep site but I did some searching and found came out in May 2012)
Julianne: "Smoky grey blue crème"
Grace: "Classic 'go-to' light pink sheer"
These two glitters are just so pretty. I'm such a sucker for shiny things. :-)

 Description from site:
"Quench dry, dull skin with Julep's ultra-moisturizing body crème. Gently exfoliates with pomegranate and papaya enzymes, while shea butter and a powerful blend of jojoba, avocado, and kukui nut oils provide deep and lasting hydration. Leaves your skin soft and smooth to the touch."

It smells really good and I think I will like it better than the Grapefruit Body Frosting!

The other extras that were included are the three hair ties we received I believe in the January Maven Box, a emory board, a pack of ten One Step Polish Remover Pads and some chocolate eggs. Yeah those eggs didn't make it a minute. lol

My April Maven box should be coming any day now so look out for that post.
Thank you again for visiting and have a great rest of your day!
