Mardi Gras Julep Fishtail Mani

Welcome back guys.
Happy Wednesday!
Here is the first of my many Mardi Gras manis

For those who do not know the meaning of the colors :

These colors are said to have been chosen by Grand Duke Alexis Alexandrovitch Romanoff of Russia during a visit to New Orleans in 1872. This doctrine was reaffirmed in 1892, when the Rex Parade theme "Symbolism of Colors" gave the colors their meanings. - copied from Wikipedia.

Purple Represents Justice. Green Represents FaithAnd Gold Represents Power.

I went and used all Julep for this look

Julep Maven New Years Mystery Box!

Hey Guys!
Today I have for you what came in my Julep Maven New Years Mystery Box I was telling you about!
I'm pretty stoked about what I got cause only got one dupe and was one I really liked.

Always love when open up and see a bag!

It included:
3oz bottle of Julep Daylight Defense for Hands and Face. (Has a nice citrus smell)
2 sample packets of the Age Defying Hand Brightner
3 One Step Polish Remover Pads
Blue Nail Art Glitter Pot
Tote Bag
5 Polishes

From left to right:
Sienna:  (Great gold that was my only dupe)
Hilary: (Wonderful glitter that has silver, gold black and copper glitters)
Chelsea: (Once again...great glitter with hot pink, silver and a few light green and gold glitters)
Popova: (Green creme)
Stella: (Mustard yellow creme)

I can't wait to do something with those glitters! Julep really makes some dynamite ones!

Thank you for dropping by and hope to see you next time!

Geaux Saints!

Happy Elecion Day!
Instead of a patriotic man I do one to celebrate the Saints win on Monday Night Football!
Are you ready for some football?!?!

I bet you are not surprised that if LSU was my fave college team
then the Saints would be my fave NFL team!

I went with a not obvious homage to the Saints with this black and gold dotted design.

Don't worry, I will totally have a obvious football design later on that will be highly obnoxious.

Multichrome stamping

Hey Guys!

I have a confession....I have a addiction to a multichrome!
I can't help it but they are so beautiful, especially these Ludurana Aurora Boreal ones from Brazil!

And they are perfumed....yes that seems very back when I was 12 to have polish like that but....they smell good!

Today I have a manicure for you that features one of these beauties!

Gold Chrome: Julep Sienna
Multichrome: Ludurana Aurora Boreal Fascinante

I chose this stamp since I didn't want to detract from the Fascinante.
I stamped it with Julep Sienna, the awesome gold chrome that came in the August Maven Box!

Outdoors (Sun)

 Outdoors (Shade)
I love how it changes from a golden to a coppery red!

Indoors

Hope you enjoy this look!
See you next time and thank you for vistiting!

Dupe or No Dupe, That is the Question!

Hey Everyone!
I hope you are all having a great Saturday!

I received a request to compare the Julep Sienna that came in my August Maven box with Orly Luxe and I am all too happy to oblige.

 Does look pretty close.

In the pics below, I put two coats of each and topped with a coat of Seche Vite!

Mother nature wasn't cooperating with providing sun but you can see that Orly Luxe does seem to be a brighter true gold.

I have to say that I prefer the Orly Luxe since the Orly is cheaper and larger.
I had gotten this Orly at Sally's for I believe $8 and Julep sells for $14, $12 if a Maven.

I couldn't waste an opportunity to do some stamping!
I used China Glaze Frostbite to stamp this water marble effect stamp from BM320.
I first tried the chrome blue that came in the August Julep Maven Box, Melanie, but it was just too light to show up.

I think it is a really pretty combination.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thank you for visiting!
