October Julep Maven "American Beauty" Box

Hey Guys!

My Maven box came!
This is the one that I changed from "It Girl" to "American Beauty" because my hubby said he liked the colors in this box better.

I have to say that I agree. I am really happy that I swapped boxes this month!

How stinking cute is this box?
Goodness I love Halloween!

 Love this quote!

We got some treats in our box!
Candy Corn and Glitters in Orange and Black

Goodies are the Quick Dry Polish Drops
The drops worked good at drying the polish quickly but the lavender smell is a bit strong and the vitamin E left my hands feeling greasy.
Once I washed my hands it was all good.
Orange Crackle  polish is Sabrina. (all the crackles were named after witches)
Get it, Sabrina the Teenage Witch!
Navy polish is Eloise

 I love this crackle combo!

It is a very chic, sophisticated crackle.

I think the hubby did a great job with getting me to switch !
Jeter, my chihuahua, just had to come join in the photo shoot. lol

I hope you thought this was as cute as i did.
Look out for the add ons that should be arriving shortly!
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous rest of your Saturday!

Morning of Nail Fail!

Happy Thursday!

Have you ever started a day of painting and just nothing goes right? Especially if you start off bad.

Today I wanted to do some Halloween stuff and
I wanted to do some
Shaun of the Dead nail art.

I love this movie, so thought I would do Shaun and ED's shirts and bloody nail to write the movie title with a zombie hand on top  and then try to do a cricket bat and shovel.
Yeah, writing is not a strength and neither is drawing. lol

I'm embarrassed to put pic up but I knew there would be others that get me when you have those days. I think the only one I like of is Shaun's shirt.

Then after this I tried doing some watermarble and the dang crap would not spread right and give me consistent designs.
Stupid middle two fingers!

I mean I'm digging the thumb, index and even the pinkie but it just would not cooperate for the others.

So the I decided to go to stamping. Yes stamping can be a pain at times but generally works.
Not today and my camera wouldn't focus right so even the pics of the decent ones didn't come out.
I think I'm gonna take a break and revisit tonight!

Thanks for listening to my rant and pissiness!

Husband's Choice!

                                                          Happy Hump Day!
It is my Saturday so I'm going to relax do some nails and I really need to go get my new drivers license. I've been living in Mississippi for nearly 6 months and still haven't. I hate the DMV!
As you know I have a Julep Maven subscription and while I was looking at my box choices my hubby went...... Ooohhhhh at one of the boxes. So for the first time I'm gonna change my box choice from "It Girl" to "American Beauty". I don't have a orange crackle so I think it will be a fun change. If not.... You know who I'm blaming. Lol
He also talked me into the add ins of Sofia and Gwyneth. These are the glow in the dark and sheer pink one.
I love that he truly supports my love of polish and nail art!

I'm writing this from my warm comfy bed but time to get this day started! Have a Fabulous Day!!

Ovarian Cancer Awareness

Happy Tuesday!
Septmember is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
To find out more, please visit for more info and how you can show your support.

I had such a hard time with this stamp. I finally gave up on my index and middle fingers after the third try for each. For some reason, the stamp would not be clear and get smudged.

 China Glaze Aquadelic
KleanColor Chunky Holo Teal
I forgot to take a picture of it but I used Sally Hansen Insta Dri in Silver Sweep for the stamping.

 Bundle Monster BM-321

The holo isn't showing up cause of the sun but it added a fun shimmer to the underneath.

Thank you for stopping by as always and have a great day!

I'm "Falling" for These Nails!

Yeah I know, I'm a dork.
I am in love with how this design came out.
I wanted something to welcome in Fall.

After doing this, I thought that with slightly different colors, it could look kind of Hawaiian.

Sally Hansen Insta Dri Rapid Red
Sally Hansen Insta Dri Lighting
Julep Otte (Base coat)
China Glaze Staraboard
China Glaze Exotic Encounters

I used the 3 leaf designs on the Bundle Monster BM05 plate.

I just love the overlapping of the colors and how they meld together!

I hope you all enjoy this design as much as I do!
Thank you for taking time to stop by and I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Fall Floral

Welcome Back! It's Tuesday but also my Saturday!

I've been trying hard not to admit that summer is gone but it is time to start dabbling in the more fall colors.
I surprised myself with how much I liked this combo.

I had done a post awhile back where i tested out my new DRK-B plate and found the images were not as crisp as I hoped. Adriana from
commented on that post with some great tips when using their tips.
Her tip of scraping a few more times than normal and even blowing on the image while on the stamper helped out tremendously!
Thank you Adriana!

Konad Special Nail Polish in Red
China Glaze Elephant Walk

Can't wait to try other designs now from this stamping plate!

Thanks as always for visiting!

Gauva Mint Floral Mani

Hey Lovelies! I hope you all are having a awesome Saturday!
I know this seems more fitting for spring but these polishes just jumped out at me when i saw the design.

 CND Guava
China Glaze Re- Fresh Mint

I'm really falling in love with this plate since I figured out the best way to use it!
I may have to break down and get the other ones.

"I'm in Love with My Car" Mani

Hello All,
I named this post after a song by my favorite band, Queen!
It's my least favorite song written and performed by Roger Taylor
but it sums up my nails today.

I have a 2012 Dodge Challenger and I LOVE IT!

I don't do much free hand but figured id give doing some racing stripes a try.
I first put a coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dry Rapid Red and then put down two pieces of striping tape. I painted the Wet N' Wild Black Creme on top then removed the tape.

I thought the tape after removing was not wide enough so I used these Nail Art polishes to make the red lines a tad thicker and the black for cleanup.

Not exactly how I pictured in my head but made me think of my Challenger. ;-)

Thank you so much for visiting and see you next time!

Muted Julep Maven Cloud

Hey Guys!
I wanted to do a mani featuring the polishes that came in my Julep Maven September Box.
I decided to try the cloud nail art technique.

 From top to bottom:

These colors are just a odd combo together but thought, let's give it a go.

It just seemed so.....muted and blah so i added another Julep color, Emelie to add a little oooompf.
I had so many people ask if a Mexican design.
Maybe I will revisit  this combo for Cinco de Mayo.

I hope you all have a great rest of your day!

My First Fishtail Mani!

Hello Lovelies!
Happy Wednesday!
I finally decided to try my hand at my first fishtail mani.
I played it cool and only did as accent nails in case it was a pain in the rump to do.
It took me two tries to get this.  I was making it more difficult on myself the first try by making the lines thin and then went.....Cher...use the width of the brush like they do in ALL the tutorials.

Not too shabby if I do say so myself.

From left to right:
Julep Harley
Zoya Wednesday
China Glaze Gothic Lolita

I then needed a little something for the aqua nails so I added a coat of Essie Shine of the Times. I love this polish with all its flakie goodness!

I really can't wait to do some other combinations and to do full on all nails this time!

Thanks for dropping in!

This one is Want My Bawdy.

This was a pretty easy mani. This was two coats of China Glaze Want My Bawdy and a houndstooth stamp from the new Bundle Monster Collection.

Stamped with Wet n Wild Black Creme

Thanks for dropping by and as always, thank you!

Gradient Butterfly

Happy Tuesday All!
It is my Friday so yeeeaaahhh weekend!

Today I have a bit of gradient with some stamping.
I was in the mood for something pretty. I normally like the darker stuff lately but I wanted "dainty".
I really liked this butterfly stamp on the new Bundle Monster plates.

I really liked how the red and blue mixed to make the purple.

I first put a thin coat of Kalahari Kiss so that I did not have to put a thousand coats of the Knotty. I love Knotty cause it is a shimmer and I did not want to brightness of a white background.

 Left: China Glaze Knotty
Right: China Glaze Kalahari Kiss

I then stamped with Konad Special Stamping Polish in Blue, Red and Green.

Thank you so much for coming by and taking a look.
I hope you have a great rest of your day!
