Cos Bar for Target

Happy Saturday!

I've got a quick one for you tonight.

Wanted to show ya'll a couple of polishes I picked up from the Cos Bar for Target collection. These are part of a limited run called  The Shops at Target.

Cos Bar is a cosmetics shop in Aspen Colorado.
I had never heard of them before
this so I wanted to try it out.

I only tried out two of the four colors since the purple and copper were not doing anything for me.

I gotta say the names are not very inventive but I was enjoying the colors.

 Lime Green
This took three coats to get semi opaque. When I use on my own nails, I have a feling I would be putting a fourth on.

Bronze
This had great application and was two thin coats.
I just thought this was a nice shimmery brown.

The polishes are $3 and can be found at Target till June16th.

Thank you as always,
Cher

Moving to Cali Nails

Happy Wednesday!

This post is long overdue but I was moving and just got everything situated and finally got to take some pics of the tools I used for this mani.

My friend Tiffany was moving back to her home state of California the same time I was moving here to Mississippi.  We would always have girl days/nights where we'd watch some
cheesy show or movie and I'd give her a mani.

One our last night to hang, I of course did her nails. The only stipulation was that I got to do whatever I wanted and that she would allow rhinestones! :-)
We decided it needed to be beachy and fun to represent her new adventure of moving back across the country.

Here it is. Cute palm trees with accent ocean waves!

For the beach gradient I used:
Blue Sky: China Glaze Caribbean Blue
Seafoamy Green/Blue:  China Glaze For Audrey
Sand:  China Glaze Fast Track

I first applied the Fast track as a base, since it was the lightest, and then used a makeup sponge to apply the gradient.
As you can see on the picture, I painted the three colors onto the sponge and then applied to nail. I would continue to ponce the sponge until I liked the level of blending that was going on.

I used the Konad M29 plate for the palm tree.

I stamped using the Konad special polish in Green and OPI Espresso Your Style.

Palm Tree Nail

To add a little something, we used two gold rhinestones for coconuts.
Yes, we probably should have used some micro beads to make more true to size but rhinestones are more awesome!

On the wave nails I painted a base of the Caribbean blue then used this wave pattern on the Cheeky Jumbo Plate B. I used the Konad Special Polish in White for the stamping.

We originally were going to do water marbling for it but for some reason, every time we did it, we got a completely different result and the nails would look nothing like each other. We saved our remaining sanity and went with the stamp.

I think they came out great and were a great send off to
my awesome friend
who I miss so incredibly much!
Love ya Tiffany!

P.S. Check out our crazy setup  he had since she had no furniture cause movers had come that day. We had really grand plans for these nails and alot didn't turn out how we wanted so there was a lot of testing and retesting. LOL

I hope you all also enjoyed these and thank you as always for visiting!

Polishes are in the Racks People!

Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!!

I was doing some unpacking and decided to take a break and set up the racks for my polish!

Here it is!

I had made the racks different so that's why they look different.
All the polish and nail treatments are on here.
I'm gonna go get some dollar store baskets to put under the pic to hold the tools and removers

I saw this on Pinterest and my wonderful Dad painted it for me!

On this rack I have mostly OPI on bottom closer to desk. At very top is my polishes that I don't use as often then I have my more unique ones in middle. I have some more Zoya's coming so thats why I left that gap on the fourth shelf.

This is all my China Glaze and then I put the stamping/nail art polishes, and treatments on the bottom two shelves!

I'm pretty stoked to finally get out of the boxes and bags that I had them in before.

Have a great rest of your Mother's Day!
Thank you for visiting!

Bundle Monster Sneak Peak Part 3

Hey Party People!

Bundle Monster is killing me. I freaking can't wait to get these stamp plates.
It seems like they really listened to their fans on what kind of stamps to add to this collection.

How cute are these Halloween ones.
Little devils!

Loving the key and of course the adorable bee.
Really digging the faux gradient stamp even though I'm a pretty good at gradient stamping.
What could that one on the left be? Fur??
Hmmmm......

I can't wait till tomorrow when I will get to do some painting after I finish a reset at work!

We are unpacking on Saturday so I should be able to set up my nail station that night or Sunday at latest! I can't wait to have everything out and organized!

Have a great night everyone and thanks for visiting!

Shame on you Layla

Happy Monday All,

Little bummed because my mani did not even make it 24 hours before chipping!

Part of me thinks that having to buff it to that insane shine may hurt the polish from getting a good grip onto the nail.

It is beyond worse right now since, god forbid, i did some cleaning around the house.

Do you think the husband will be cool with, Honey, I can't clean up and unpack around the house cause my polish will chip. :-(

Knowing my awesome guy....he would say ok. LOL

Have a great rest of your Monday!

Yet Another Bundle Monster Tease

Happy Sunday!

Bundle Monster is just killing me with their teasers for the new set of nail stamps.
I am utterly in love with the kitchen/veggie one on the left!
I hope they have single veggies also so can use this as an accent nail then put veggies on other nails!!

They put this pic up to show they worked out to get the plates near perfect for mass production. If you notice, one of them shows a cute little bee.

Word is that they will be on sale late May/Early June!

They have not said if they will allow pre orders.

A follower asked if they would be awareness ribbons and they said we shall find out on next teaser picture!

Someone also asked if there would be a puzzle piece and they said yes!. That will be awesome to use for next years Autism Awareness Nails!

I hope you enjoyed these pics and are as excited as I am!

Layla Hologram Effect

Hey All,
Sorry it has been a while since there has been a post. I have moved from Savannah GA to Gulfcoast of Mississippi so needless to say, its been a little crazy in my world.

I can't wait to get everything unpacked and to be able to set up my nail station! All my nail stuff is still in trunk of my car but I took a trip to Ulta yesterday and saw the collection of Layla Holo's and I just had to have a couple.

The one I chose to wear first was the silver one called Mercury Twilight.

I'm stoked because these are the first Holos I've ever had.
I did learn a few things from it and hopefully will help if you decide to pick up a couple of these beauties.

I had read that to get the best results with holo's that to use the file. Someone I read said you can use any file that has a buffer on it but I gotta say, the buffer on the Layla file makes your nails crazy shiny! Like you just put a top coat on shiny. I wish I took a pic of before and after to show.
I will next time, promise.

I included a bunch of pics so enjoy this holo goodness!

This was taken indoors, how awesome is that holo!
Just imagine what it will look like in sun.

It is overcast so couldn't get a sun pic. :-(

This is with three coats applied.  The application is a little streaky.
I read it is even worse if do not use the file.

This is what happened when I put a coat of Seche Vite on.
It cut out most of the holo and I was able to see the streaks in it.
I had put a top coat on because some have said they had bad chipping
after just a couple of hours of wearing.

After about a half hour, more of the holo started to show through
but not nearly how it was without a top coat.

When I use the Ocean Rush color I also got, I will leave it without a top coat.

I hope you all have a fabulous rest of your weekend.
Thank you for visiting!
